The All Americans (20-11) defeated the Cincinnati Steam (17-12) by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday at Bill Davis Stadium.

brad stillings started this game for columbus; he gave up 2 runs (on a 2 run homer in the 2nd innning) on 6 hits in 6 IP with 5 strikeouts...except for 1 bad pitch to brandon besl which ended up over the left field wall, he pitched pretty well... give a game ball to matt shoemaker, who came in with a runner on 3rd and no outs in the top of the 9th after tyler smith gave up a double off a wall and balked to allow the runner to advance to third...he struck out the first batter looking, got a hard ground ball to cory rupert, who looked the runner back to third...he walked the next batter after falling behind...then struck out the next batter to get out of the inning without giving up a run, excellent work to give the all americans a chance in the bottom of the 9th...zach gentile pinch hit and led off the inning with a double in the left-center gap...jeff davis sacrificed him over...michael sims then knocked a single down the left field line to drive in gentile and win the game...the all americans had 10 hits in the game but left 8 men on base
