For a box score, see the <a href="http://cmazza.org/www.greatlakesleague.org" target="_blank">league website.</a></p> <p><em>well, the pitching for both sides was pretty impressive tonight, as the only run scored was off of a solo HR by Lima…the all americans forgot to bring their bats with them on the bus, managing only 6 hits in 9 innings…twice they got a runner to third (with the size of that field, a single really doesn’t score a runner from second) and failed to bring him home…</em></p> <p><em>columbus pitchers worked in and out of jams, which was good to see</em>…</p> <p><em>on the bus, head coach </em><strong><i>brian mannino</i></strong><em> mentioned that some of the players needed to learn the signs…i was wondering what caused some of those baserunning gaffes tonight, perhaps that was the reason</em></p> <p><em>this was a game the all americans probably should have won, but they simply failed to get timely hits…</em></p> <p><strong><i>Coach Mannino</i></strong><em> mentioned that the team looked “flat” after 2 days off…can’t really disagree with that, considering the lack of offensive production and some of the errors made in the field today</em></p> <p><em>assistant coach </em><strong><i>ryan fleming </i></strong><em>was ejected from the game tonight, his first time in his short career as an all americans coach…it appeared from where we were sitting that coach fleming was speaking very calmly with the umpire after a questionable call (or non-call)…he didn’t shout or swear at the umpire, but in any case he was tossed…apparently you have to go sit on the bus if you’re kicked out, seems kind of ridiculous to me…should’ve pulled a Bobby Valentine and put on a disguise though </em></p>Connorhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05364639698107552668noreply@blogger.com
